Jim Frye Founds Lynxmotion
Lynxmotion was founded In 1995 by Jim Frye (The Robot Guy), due to his fascination with robotics and a frustration with the available robot-based kits. Lynxmotion made a serious commitment to manufacture and distribute high quality educational robot kits. The kits are in use teaching many aspects of robotics all over the world. These are not 'toys", but vehicles for teaching and learning complex robotic principles. They are a lot of fun, though.1995Legacy
Hobby Robotic Arms
Whether you are an electronics hobbyist, a robotics enthusiast or a student or teacher, this project is for you. I believe these are the best small scale computer controlled robot kits available. Some of the many features of this arm are; 5 axis (base rotate, shoulder, elbow, wrist and gripper) All axes are closed loop. You tell it where to go, it does. Can be completely battery powered by a 9 volt and a 6 volt lantern battery. Extremely easy to program and control with any serial port. Can utilize a PC, single board computer, PIC or even BASIC Stamp. Very fast, accurate and repeatable movement.

Lynx 5 & 6
The Lynxmotion 5 Axis Robotic Arm Kit delivers fast, accurate and repeatable movement. The robot features; base rotation, shoulder, elbow and wrist motion and a functionial gripper to make up five axis of movement. No soldering is required for this kit as the servo controller is completely assembled. With the exception of some basic construction supplies all components are included to assemble a functional robot. A host PC or microcontroller is required to issue simple positional commands for movement. The Lynxmotion 5 Axis Robotic Arm Kit is a very affordable introductory system and makes a great teaching aid.

Johnny 5 Robot
Inspired by Johnny 5 from the movie Short Circuit, the Lynxmotion Johnny 5 Robot Kit is a very cool and completely functional robot. It's designed for indoor or outdoor use and performs well on many different surfaces. You can control the robot from a PC with the included DB9 cable, or use a Bluetooth Modem for wireless PC control.
2002Phoenix Hexapod
The Lynxmotion Phoenix 3DOF Hexapod Robot Kit (BotBoarduino) has a more natural looking, more articulate leg and body design. The three DOF (degree of freedom) leg design means this robot can walk in any direction. The robot uses 18 Hitec HS-645 servos. The community allowed this project to be relized with special thanks going to KurtE, Xan and Zenta (aliases).
2004A-Pod Hexapod
The Lynxmotion A-Pod Hexapod Robot Kit (No Electronics) is insect inspired. The angled legs provides additional range of movement. The three DOF (degree of freedom) leg design means the robot can walk in any direction. The robot has been designed to use 18 HS-645 servos for the legs and an additional 7 servos for the head and tail. It's truly amazing to see in action.
2004T-Hex Hexapod
The Lynxmotion T-Hex 4DOF Hexapod Robot Kit is Mech inspired. The use of offset brackets on the legs provides an additional range of movement. The four DOF (degree of freedom) leg design means the robot can walk in any direction, just like the 3DOF version. But the 4th axis really expands the dynamic range of the robot's range of motion.
2006BRAT Biped
The Lynxmotion A4WD3 Rugged Rover is a general purpose mobile robotic platform. The frame is intended to be used in three configurations: 4WD; Mecanum & Tracked, and variations of each platform include without electronics (so developers can integrate their own parts); an RC version and microcontroller-based for autonomous or semi-autonomous use.
